Patina sits on the Fari Islands — a small archipelago shared with a working marina, a beach club, and a short list of neighbouring houses. The architecture is by Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27: low pavilions, raw timber, washed plaster, the mood set by the place rather than the brand on the front gate. Days move from the lagoon to the bookshop, from a long lunch to a private meal on the marina; the register stays restrained throughout. Twelve restaurants, the country’s only proper marina, and a children’s house woven into the architecture rather than hidden at the edge.
For the design-led traveller — a contemporary house at the centre of the Fari Marina.
